Emergency shelter for men is available for up to 40 consecutive nights in a 60-man dorm and overflow mats. During the winter months, the Mission is a “Code Blue” shelter and warming center, and often shelters up to 300 people each night. The Rescue Mission also partners with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church to shelter overflow guests.
Some guests may need to stay more than the initial 40 nights. These guests agree to volunteer around the Mission’s campus in exchange for an extended stay in a designated 24-man dormitory.
Men and women who participate in our addiction recovery programs are sheltered for 9-12 months as part of their program. Upon graduation and gainful employment, many apply to live in our Transitional Living Program which supports residents as they continue to mature in their recovery and become productive citizens.
An 8-bed shelter is available on-site for single women who need safe shelter, a warm bed and a refreshing shower. The overnight shelter is open all year-round and works in conjunction with our new women’s day sitting room.
VOLUNTEERS/STAFF ARE CURRENTLY NEEDED. Contact Hope at 518.462.0459 x 237 or vcoordinator@albanymission.com to inquire.
